Anyone live there? What's the TexAgs consensus?

I don't live there but my wife sold a house there. It was a whip getting there just to show. If you work anywhere near Austin I would hate the commute, and we live in brushy creek.

Far from everything, and we live in Leander almost to Liberty Hill. Lago will make you think you live in another world. Now, if you are fine with living far from everything, maybe that is ok.

The commute to my office in NW Austin would be about the same length as what I'm doing from Elgin. But LV seems a lot nicer with better schools. Really pretty out there and the community seems great.

You forgot to mention that you're living in Elgin and commuting to NW Austin. Yes, look in Lago Vista.

Remember that better schools than Elgin doesn't mean it has good schools.

If I were living in Elgin I would try to shorten my commute, not just make it different, but that's just me.

Everything you wrote is true. LV is radically prettier than Elgin. Your commute to work may be equal, but getting to Austin for entertainment, if that is important to you, will be tiring.

Add: LV ISD is a very solid district, based on TEA ratings. Exemplary is uncommon at the high school level. Elgin doesn't even make the accountability ratings visible on their website. One of Elgin's middle schools is "academically unacceptable."

Why yes, I thought it would be great to spread gheyness throughout the hill country.

I thought Lago Vista had a city ordinance that you had to be at least 80 years old to live there.

Wow, tough crowd.

I know a lot of great people living in Lago. I've had several patients out there. It's beautiful but not where I want to be.

Great area, close to both Austin and Marble falls.

A good friend of mine just moved out there and i have alot of clients in that area.

Congrats on the move.

There are a lot of really small, tame deer. T&P for your garden.

We have an outside dog with a wireless fence. Should be okay when it comes to deer.

Let us know if you find anywhere nearby tasty to eat at besides Sonic.

The Subway on 1431 in Jonestown is the best Subway that I've been to. Not that my brother owning it has anything to do with my opinion.
