I heard about it on Tuesday. New station started by some old KVET guys supposed to be playing all Texas country but every time I flip over to it they're playing the same Dale Watson song over and over.

From what I heard, regular radio programming will start in the next few days.

they're sort-of stunting till Sunday, Bob Cole starts the new morning show on 7/9.

As much of a tsip homer as Bob Cole is, I am kind of glad he is back on the air. The morning show in KVET these days blows monkey nuts.

It's real. Bob went into business with a lawyer and started a new station. Programming goes live on Sunday.

Oh ok cool. And yea the KVET morning show sucks balls. And now that 1530 is off the air you can't even get Mike and Mike in the Morning in Austin now so the morning options are rather slim.

I'm looking forward to it.

Out of Thorndale tx. Hays county is fooked.

99.3 and 98.5 are the frequencies they will broadcast on.

On the heels of this, where DID 1530am go? I know you can get the Herd on 1260am. But the rest is local sip crap

you should listen to 98.5 south of the river to pick it up. I'm really excited to hearing this launch on Sunday.

Use tried 98.5 and also static. Barely comes in. Meh..

It was good to here bob cole and the old crew back on this morning. picked it up fine on 99.3.

The Dale Watsone sone played on a loop last week was the song that inspired Cole to start a new station centered around real Texas country music. He asked Dale Watson to tweak the words to his old song "Country Music my ass" and now it is the stations ethos.

I'll have to listen since Eric Raines is there.

Is bob bringing Sammy back?

Essientially, it's the "old" KVET morning show re-hashed. Which I am ok with, because all the other morning shows in town blow.

We'll see how the afternoon show goes, I think they are going to have Eric Raines do the 3-7 drive time.

And I think I only heard Cole mention Hill's once in the hour or so I was listening.

was Eric Raines really Garth Brooks drummer?

was born and raised right here in Texas! I think I have a different perspective in radio because, I've been on both sides of radio.... behind the Mic of course and, I spent seven years of my life on and off the road with different bands.
I played drums with Ty England for 3 years and even got to play several times with Garth Brooks Stillwater band. After that it was on the road with Rick Trevino and even had a brief stint with Cory Morrow filling in for a while. I finally gave up on that dream after kids arrived in my life. I still play on the weekends with a local cover band Sprung. I started my radio career here in Central Texas and I'm lucky to be back working in the area I've lived in since I was four.

Eric's a good guy. Only met Bob Cole in passing, but have heard good things about him. I'm always rooting for the little guy to survive in radio, and this outpost is as little as they come for now.

Sammy Allred does an hour (a day? a week? not sure) at some tiny non-com out in Dripping Springs. He's not very coherent anymore, but then again I didn't really know him before 2010, so maybe he's always sounded/acted like that.

I download the previous day's TexAgs radio off of iTunes and listen on my commute. Sometimes I bounce around from the sports, to klbj, to the comedy on 102.7, and kvet.
The new station sounds good and I do like bob cole so I'll listen in. Thorndale?! That's hilarious, so will he give the Thorndale Meat Market, Schroeder's, that burger place, etc. any love I wonder?

You youngsters who never heard the original KOKE FM missed a great experience.

I wasn't impressed listening yesterday. I heard a lot more Nashville sound than I was expecting. And even out in eastern WilCo, almost to Thorndale, the signal wasn't great.

Oh, and I won't be listening to the morning show anyway because I just don't like Bob Cole. Yes, I realize I'm in the minority. I don't care.

Bob is his own biggest fan. And yeah, he knows it too.

I was shocked too listening yesterday. I think they ran with this super fast and probably didn't have a bunch of music lined up in the system before airing.
