Also, Riley's Tavern about halfway between N.B. and San Marcos on Hunter Road is solid.

If you are just looking for something different, not neccessarily a dump, just go downtown there are a ton of bars down there.

If you go to the Toit, just make sure you don't sit in the A**hole section
I am ashamed I have yet to go to the Hoity Toit. I have heard such good things.
Then you haven't really lived
Riley's Tavern was the first thing that came to mind
There are a few dives at Canyon Lake: The Shanty, The Little Red Barn, The Wagon Wheel

Low Key dive bar = Hoity Toit.

Hoity Toit is a definitive dive bar, though I'd say the Full Moon Saloon is a close second.

The Piano Bar is a dive only in the fact that it's in a basement. It's pretty cool place.
