I'm guessing that LG wants the block of ice for either a shot block or for going iceblocking, but doesn't want to say it on a board heavily patrolled by law enforcement. freezing a gallon of water wouldn't serve either of those purposes.
google "college station icehouse" call some numbers and see. They probably do iceblocks. We got one in houston for a new years party and it was like $65 for a 240 lbs block that was something like 10"x18"x40" I believe.
I do not know if it is still around but a few years ago Sparkle Ice had a building on Texas Ave and about 23rd Street in Bryan. The received their ice in block form and did the crushing and bagging at that location. People would buy blocks there. It may be out of business now but its worth a check in the phone book.
Don't get confused by an Ice House listing located at Main Street and MLK. That building has not made ice since about 1926 ... and most recently was a dance hall. (You have probably seen that big brown ugly building at the north end of main street.)
