Any ideas on how I can get yellow highlighter ink out of my offwhite grout? I've tried soap and water, bathroom cleaner, peroxide and a bleach stick.

you'll probably just have to cover it up with paint or a dye

I have heard ammonia can clean dirt from grout. I don't know if it will work in your situation but it maybe worth a try.

Try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I haven't tried it on highlighter, but it got my bathroom grout clean when NOTHING,including straight bleach would!

Our 3-yr. old daughter used a yellow highlighter to "draw" on her bedroom wall. The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser took it off.

Thanks, I have those... They work great on linoleum... hadn't thought to try them on the tile.

Painting is not an option. This is my tile entry way and its a large area - 28 tiles long and 7 wide and flows into my kitchen. Its get it clean, regrout or live with neon yellow grout.

Ethanol might do it. If you don't have any 100% ethanol you might try vodka or isopropyl alcohol.

If the grout wasn't sealed I doubt you'll be able to get it out as it's likely soaked in.

Regrouting a small section isn't too bad if you can find a color that matches it pretty well.

My solution when my 2yo colored in all the grout on my limestone fireplace with a black crayon was to teach him how to clean it up. He sat there for quite some time with a toothbrush and Comet paste. That was AFTER I spanked his bottom. All crayons were put away for a very long time. He got to color only at the kitchen table when I was present. He survived, he went to A&M and graduated with a degree in Environmental Design. Now he has children who color on things. :::sigh:::: What goes around comes around. Life is good.
