Any word on when/if the new Carrabba's will be built?

Has there ever been anything substantial verifying that a Carrabbas is actually coming? Seems like this has just been a rumor for years -- like Pappasitos.

I have seen it on a site plan for the retail area across from the Hilton. This was in 2004 I think. It was next to the parcel labeled "TGI Friday's". The owner of the land was holding the site plan so it seemed pretty legit to me.

There must have been changes, however...because the plan I saw had a half dozen restaurants kind of clustered around that detention pond / water feature. It may turn out that way in the end, but right now what's on the ground doesn't resemble what I saw. I don't know what happened with the Carrabba's deal and I haven't pryed when I happen to run across the developer now and then.

Some of the restaurants on that plan have shuffled around town. Originally, the new Freebirds was in that drawing. However it is of course now down at the Gateway.

Yes. The new Freebirds is going to look pretty cool too.

What's going to go in the big empty circle on the front of the Freebirds? A logo or perhaps a protruding chopper?

Maybe Carrabba's is rethinking their plans. Maybe they are looking into the new College Station Town Center as that would put them in the middle of a pretty high income area. I feel they could still draw well off University but maybe the new Town Center is an option now. There will be over a million square feet of retail and commercial space on 2 or 3 of the Highway 6 and Greens Prairie corners so it may be a good fit for them there. Just a thought. Regarless of where they build I just wish they would come now!!!

Slim - That is what I was thinking also.

At least they are going to be ready for the extensive crime scene known as College Station and have planned for a "Detention Area"!!
