I am getting six to seven a day most from the same six or seven candidates. Add to that multiple text messages from the same candidates. It's asinine to get the same mailings every day.

As with any commercial online ad, they are required to have an easy method to opt out of future advertisements.

We should be able to opt out of receiving advertisements from any political candidate sent to us in the mail, text message, or email.

It's terrible. Way worse than previous elections. I'm even getting text for CS city council. Curious how they get their contact list.

It's even more unusual because in general junk mail is so much less than it was years ago, but I'm getting political junk mail by mail, email, phone and text, pretty much getting it from all sides this year.

I don't think I've gotten one piece of mail for the elections. Now text messages I get at least 10 a day. Not city elections.

We had 10 in the mail in a single day last week. A few were the exact same ad

I have always felt like the real winners in elections are those that get paid for the tv ads and the mailers

I don't mind talking about it since it is public record. I am not sure about the mailers because I didn't go down that route. I have paid for a text to go out on Election Day. The process was finding a group I had good reviews and in my price range. I then told them I wanted high perplexity voters who did not vote in the early voting. So they identified through past voting data voters who voted often and they have a software that can tell if you voted early or not. Hopefully that's a little helpful on our side of the coin.

I got told by someone who is friends with a candidate that they paid for a text message service that they would stop sending text once you early voted. So I went and early voted - then I got these text that identified that I early voted and to convince my friends to do so as well. So no luck there…

I guess this is a newly found "benefit" of AI. And why it is so much worse this year. It can re-crunch targeted list in seconds, where it used to take real effort. I feel like we've reverted back to the popup ads of the late 90s, dot com bubble.

I got the same "You've already voted" text and I hadn't voted yet.

The mail adds are too slick for my bird cage, so they are a complete waste of wood fiber.

Junk mail can be recycled! Mine never makes it in the house, as I walk right by the recycling bin in the garage on my way back from the mailbox.

Same. I don't think there's any validity to it.

I literally haven't read a single mailer from either party. They immediately go in the trash regardless of who they're from.

So what you are saying is that I am paying good money (in College Station) to recycle a waste of wood pulp.

I mailed the AARP envelope back to them with note on their political leanings in it for many years. Must not have been the only one they started using non pre-paid envekopes.

My phone and mailbox have been continually getting politically raped. It is the politicians way, ALL OF THEM.

Whether you voted or not should be confidential and not available to anyone unless there is an investigation or data analysis and done after the election.

You can purchase the data from the tax office that lists all the owners and their addresses. I used to do that and merge it into a spreadsheet and scrub the list with those on the do not contact lists and also with a list of all the real estate agents in the area for my real estate mailings.

What was funny, other agents were sending out mailings to everyone. When I was an agent, I would probably get 50 to 60 mailings from other agents asking if I was interested in selling my house. I still get a lot. If I were to sell my house, I would list it as For Sale by Owner as I don't need a real estate agent to market my house.

I have a community mailbox and put the ads and other junk mail in the outgoing slot.

As it relates to the political mailers, why don't the candidates simply keep their money, or donate it to charity? I throw the mailers away as soon as the mail is brought into my home.

Nobody would give them the money if they kept it. Well unless you're name is Beto
