Beware of renting to "Aggie Royals". They are, according to their website, "Aggie Royals is a women's organization that strives to unify women on the Texas A&M campus by displaying our three pillars of service, commitment, and integrity".

They utilized my short term rental for a "recruitment" event. At this event, I am certain that they provided alcohol to minors , they damaged items in my home and left it in deplorable condition. They also overflowed my dumpster with items that should not have been placed there including hazardous materials (paint) to the extent that my daughter and I had to unload it by hand and make 2 trips to the landfill. I gave them the opportunity to rectify the situation before writing a review. They declined to do so. This organization clearly doesn't represent TAMU in a good light.

Not surprised. I am familiar with the way the sororities treat neighboring properties during rush week. The sense of entitlement young ladies of that ilk display is astounding.

Maybe good policy to not rent to entities? Too many people involved and no single responsible person. Or maybe a way to charge a large deposit for them?

I used to run charter buses for the sororities. Had more problems with trashed buses than any other group by far. Way worse than the fraternities.

When you have been told you are a snowflake princess your whole life and have mommy and daddy ready to cover any mishap, it's not surprising.

This is why many Airbnbs have a policy of not renting to groups and not allowing events of ANY KIND.

I'm sorry you got screwed.

I would never sign off on an 'Official Recruiting Event' at an AirBnB for the orgs I advise. Recognized Student Organizations get free or heavily discounted space on campus to host events of all sizes because student pay fees with their tuition.

Events on campus have oversight by at least one staff member checking on you.

They didn't rent a venue, they rented a place to break the rules/law without any oversight.

It is really bad on the advisor if they had an 'Official Recruiting Event' at an AirBnB. It's bad whether the advisor knew or not. Not worth the time communicating with the advisor based on this, its the conduct office that issues sanctions.

Why not contact the advisor AND the conduct office?

I agree that talking only to the advisor is probably not likely to go much of anywhere due to the potential repercussions that could come back on the advisor if s/he reported it to conduct or any other office, but putting everyone on the same email could have a two birds one, one stone impact.

In this day and age I am shocked Frats and Sororities (rent a friend) still exist. They were a running joke when I was in school 1000 years ago and still are to this day.

They are elitist/conformist cliques that quietly discriminate against many groups while they blow thru a bunch of mommy and daddy's money so they can feel important.

Who enforces those? Seriously asking. Our property is absolutely trashed every year during RUSH and I have had no success in getting someone to respond that can modify their behavior.

It is the houses on Olympia Way. The condos across the street are littered with trash afterwards, and they utilize the dumpsters that the residents pay for on the little they actually do throw away. So the residents that have paid for the dumpsters have no place to dump trash. I know it's going to happen, but I am trying to get someone to get them to hire their own roll off dumpsters and to hire a cleaning crew to walk the area, especially the yards across the street and pick up all the trash.
