Last night my son took a picture of a rocket and this morning I saw one/took a picture. Looked like it was SE of College Station. Anyone have any idea what that was?

Those look like regular jet contrails to me

Don't think so. Was going straight up. In the second photo I could see the craft. Didn't look like a jet.

Considering we are 300+ miles from the closest commercial or military launch facility you aren't seeing and rockets launching from college station.
The straight up appearance is an optical illusion. If you look at the "straight up" picture you can even tell there is two contrails, one from each wing of the aircraft.

you are standing on a ball (earth). The plane is really high making an arc over you. The contrail is too far away to perceive the arc. Also, the older parts of it are dispersing in the wind, making it look larger, while the leading edge is thin. Your brain perceives the arc as a straight line, and the fat part as being closer (lower to the ground) than the thin part that looks further (up) away.

I saw it too OP, I thought it looked strange, not a typical contrail. It was very vertical and very big (insert "that's what she said" joke here). I wondered about a rocket as well.

Just regular Contrails. The big one in front of the moon looks crazy, but sometimes the atmosphere does wild things.
