My young adult daughter was in a minor collision over the weekend while backing out of our driveway. Looks like fault will be shared with both drivers. Our insurance is with USAA and we need to schedule an inspection and repair with a local body shop. The only USAA 'preferred' body shops are the three Caliber Collision locations and Sterling Auto Group.

We have always used Jack Winslow in the past. And I've seen several other businesses highly recommended on this board. Should I ask about using a non-preferred business or are there any positive opinions or experiences with Caliber Collision?

Classic Collision in Bryan. 21 just west of 2818 past the tractor place.

ClassicDoug posts on the Auto board sometimes. Post on that board and he will respond.

I've had him do work for me twice and it's been top notch.

You can go anywhere. Doesn't have to be a preferred shop. I'm also with USAA and the shop they sent me to would not respond after seeing my truck for an estimate.

The work I needed was difficult and Doug's crew was great.

Bryan Auto Body on Fountain. They consistently come in lower than everyone else and do fantastic work

You have the right to have it repaired at any shop you want, you don't need the insurance company's permission to use a non-preferred shop.

We had a bad experience with Sterling several years back and would not use them again!

Can't go wrong with Luna's Body Shop. Tremendous, family run business.

Thanks Maroon Barchetta!

I would be happy to help even if you just have questions about how the insurance claim works. One thing is for sure. The chain shops work for the insurance companies. We work for you. Discounts and aftermarket parts are very common with them. One thing is we try our best to put OEM parts on your vehicle even when your insurance policy states they will only pay for aftermarket parts. The list of things they do goes on and on. Let me know if you have any questions.

Luna's is great and did some work on my husband's truck- and hes a former student

We have also used 1st choice collision in the past 2 years with both vehicles and were very pleased (this is who we used after I hit a hog on OSR and did quote a bit of damage to my car last year). They did fight my insurance to get me OEM parts because the aftermarket part they insisted on was known to fail (radiator)
