KBTX jacked up their rain chances this week a lot. I remain skeptical after the last Dome induced disappointment.

There was no Hurricane Dolly, made it to tropical storm then got ripped apart. Small chance of forming in to something once it gets into the gulf.

I was actually on Padre when the 2008 Dolly hit. Was in a bar and did a water rescue with some friends. As hurricanes go that was a no biggie but happy not to go through that again . That bar is now an Italian restaurant named Gabriella's and I wish I could remember the name of the original bar because it was a hoot if a place.

I haven't had any rain just south of CS since mid-July. 45 days. The dome is in high gear.

Edit: new forecasts have a move to the west that will increase our rain chances IF true.

Parts of the Houston area are at risk for flash flooding, depending on the track Edouard decides to take. Several school districts in the Houston area are closed tomorrow.

They used to be great. They had the best, simple radar graphic.

Then they went graphic and "interactive" heavy on both the app and the desktop site. I dropped my subscription that I had for years.

I completely disagree. Seems to be on the more north wobble last hour or two. I bet it comes ashore closer to Beaumont than High Island and the ridge is not as strong. It moves more N than W and we get 0.3 to 0.6 in town. If we are lucky. Completely my gestalt and not based on models. Probably don't need to close schools Rusty. I know you are watching

I'm not running to Costco for toilet paper for this. Has been, for us, a dry side storm prediction for several days based on NWS. Would like to get some moisture but am NOT a bit hopeful.

Same. It's hot af and barely any clouds. Been here before. Storm goes east, and not only do we stay dry but it drags hot gross air with it making us even more uncomfortable.

It's a pattern that repeats itself over and over.

Huntsville is only an hour drive east of CS but gets about 6 more inches of rain annually.
