This is fascinating to track the impact of Terafab on Grimes County and its school districts.
Iola ISD board announced two things:
- a .13 per $100 INCREASE in property taxes
- Using existing budget surplus now rather than waiting til after Terafab in on the tax rolls
Apparently if Terafab is completed in 3 years, Terafab will pay approximately 92% of all Iola ISD revenue by itself, with the ISD's budget going from under 100 million to 1 billion a year.

That said, I have no confidence that the ISD will lower the rate after Terrafab comes to fruition like they float in article.
