How long do you want to ignore this user?
Good evening! Our house was broken into this morning and one of the items stolen was my husband's Aggie Ring. I am not an Aggie and the website seemed a little confusing as to how to order a ring. He is the class of 1998, is it even possible to replace?

He says he does not need to replace it, but I know he would be thrilled if I could surprise him with one. Any advice from y'all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes you can buy a replacement through the Association of Former Students. My nephew lost his ring in a car accident and was able to buy a replacement.

I would check local pawn shops also before ordering, you may get lucky and someone tried to pawn it.

You might want to check with the AFS for at least the current replacement cost to report to your insurance. Men's rings are not cheap! Last I heard, the cost was well over $2,000 due to the price of gold.

I would also add that if he is like most of us, we'd would tell my spouse we're okay not replacing but, deep down inside, your right that most every Ag would really like to have an Aggie ring.

Another option - post details about the POS thief on the outdoor board and we'll just get the original ring back.

I know folks say to check pawn shops and it's not a bad idea...

Most Pawn shops and gold dealers will recognize jewelry and see that there is a name engraved in it. Or it ends up with a low price dealer that knows they're dealing in hot items and pays a heavy discount to the seller.

Speaking of Aggie rings, there was a post the other day on Reddit about a 1976 ring being sold by Goodwill, and people urging to get the Association involved.
