I have an 11yo novice chess player who is interested in finding a group to play with for social/learning opportunities. We've always tried sports but its never been their interest.

Looked online a bit but didn't find any current local groups. Does anyone have a lead? I thought the libraries might have something but I didnt see anything and I'm unsure if the school has a club (CSISD).

There is a man who sets up chess sets at the Whataburger at the Tejas Center (Texas Ave. near Villa Maria) every Saturday at 1:00 pm and Tuesdays at 5:00 pm. He can teach or coach if needed. I've met him and have seen him there multiple times. Nice guy. He welcomes players.
