We need a few of these for Highway 6 CoCS/Bryan (Big 6 project).

It appears to be a wood cut-out of a police car with active lights.

I do not know if they are legal in Texas, but I like the idea.

I have seen an empty parked police car in strategic locations....people do slow....for about 10 seconds. ha

We were driving north on 6 probably going around 60 around 6pm last night and some kids in a brand new silver Audi was going probably 90 behind us. I saw him in my rearview mirror coming about 1/4 mile back. They got behind me when I was stuck in the right lane. They probably got within 2-3 feet of my truck. If my kids were not with me, I would have seriously considered slamming on the brakes and letting them slide under my bumper to prevent them from killing somebody. I couldn't go anywhere. Car to the left finally sped up and let them go by. When they passed me, they were vaping and laughing. They weaved in and out and forced a car to slam on the brakes when he passed them. He missed it by inches I'd say. If not, it would have been a horrible, horrible accident. It happened so fast we forgot to get the license plate. My daughter was up front and she was freaking out. Drivers like that need their license revoked and if they are caught driving again, thrown in jail. If they want to kill themselves, I have no problem. Don't take somebody else with you.

I need a dash cam. Any recommendations?

Viofo A229 Pro. Or similar but newer. Mines been bullet prooof into its 3rd texas summer now. My wife is on her 3rd VanTrue and it is now malfunctioning as well but she think it looks better. My son's red tiger was garbage from the start. Got him a Viofo too.

There used to always be one parked in a driveway at the bottom of the Dominik Dr hill. It's not there anymore and I was never sure if it was a decoy or an actual patrol officer living at that house.

I got one at Costco for $70. I thought I'd go cheap first. It's $130 on Amazon so I figured why not. If I don't like it, I'll give it to my daughter.

For reference, this didn't come with an SD card so I had to purchase one myself. That was another $40.

I'd give it to the Outdoors Board and let them do their work. Then I'd go to my buddies in the local PDs and let him do theirs. Idiots like that eventually will do something just as stupid.
And you make sure you have a lawyer friend involved to make sure everything is legal

I remember way back, 30+ years ago, the Sacramento PD had a cruiser that was parked on the road leading to the Sacramento airport. They actually put a mannequin in uniform in the front seat. Dang thing spooked me every time.

That is not new. We used to report "empty beer cans" over the CB radio while traveling in the 70s. Reference to unmanned cop cars on the highway.

Roadside Traffic Radars used to monitor traffic on highways will set off radar detectors. One at each overpass would help monitor and slow traffic down to the speed limit. (IMHO)

There is a small town in Montana (Circle, MT) that has a police vehicle on the edge of town with a manikin inside dressed like a cop holding a radar gun. Slows people down pretty quick. If you are going exceptionally fast, you cant tell its a manikin.

I will answer yes to this question!

There were 2 cars racing on Texas Ave southbound between University Dr and George Bush. I had them on video with faces and licenses plates. I turned the video in to CSPD and they pursued charges on at least one of them who admitted he was the driver. I suspect if there was no admission nothing would have happened.

PS: My rear facing camera is what caught their faces after I caught up with them stopped at the light at George Bush.
