I have to drop my daughter at Intercontinental for a 12:30 PM flight tomorrow. Is TSA still a nightmare? I believe there's also lots of construction happening? What time should I plan to get to the airport in order for her to get through TSA and make her flight? It's on United domestic.

TIA

TSA wait times have been back to normal for a while now. In fact, almost no wait right now:

Terminal B is still being reconstructed, so if your daughter is flying on United Express out of B, she'll have to go through security (and check bag if applicable) at C or E and take the tram to B, but only take a few minutes. and of course, driving around the terminals at IAH is still a mess with all the construction.

FYI, there is a lot of construction off of 249. There are no lane closures but there are a LOT of construction type trucks going slow and stacking up traffic.

It's probably quicker and less frustrating to take the 6 - 290 - BW8 route.

Thanks, will do. Cheaper tolls as well.

Haven't noticed this at all. Flown 4 times in the last 5 weeks out of IAH, including this morning. Always go down 249 to 8. No traffic issues at all.

Except for that 10mile two lane stretch through Grimes county. Thank you Grimes county for your consideration.

They are pouring permanent center barriers on HWY 249 and probably another 2-3 months before being done. The traffic impact is much less now that they are further away from BW8 but it does still exist.

Smooth sailing yesterday. We were ahead of schedule so I took 249 to 8 and had no slowdowns the entire trip going and coming. Dropped daughter at terminal E and she was through security and bag drop before I got back to Beltway 8. (I did stop for gas.)

Glad to hear. When (if) then finish 105 from 249 to Navasota, the route will be much better.

Agree. That is normally the worst part. Is that project even in the works / planning stages?

If you take 290 you can stop at Buc-ee's.

I didn't take 290 for that exact reason. Tight schedule and did not want to spend $20 on crap I shouldn't be eating anyway. They get plenty of my money as it is.
