Good evening TA braintrust. Need a new insurance agent. Currently with State Farm. Wouldn't mind continuing with SF, just need a different agent. Just can't seem to get any service for basic things like adding a vehicle to insurance. And, well, the wife told me tonight she was done with the agent 7 years ago. Thanks dear for telling me now. (She actually requested that I reach out to TA for advice. Usually I get in trouble for my TA time).

I am looking for home, auto, commercial auto, umbrella. I am old school and like to sit down with the agent face to face once a year to make sure we are on the same page.

We are in Navasota, but happy to come to College Station or even Brenham.

I can't get Jim Ross to answer my billing questions at all. They've taken good care of me on several claims, but barely lifted a finger when I asked them to pursue diminished value for me or if I ask them for an itemized breakdown on why my bill has gone up 30% since Covid.

Rollo Insurance. Great people and many lines for all your needs

Beal Insurance. Same as above, but a smaller local company.

I moved on after 30 years from State Farm . My rates went up 40%. To AllState. And rates went back down to below what I was paying State Farm years ago.

Just curious if your current SF agent is in Navasota?

If you want to cut through the noise of one carrier versus another...Do the same thing that everyone at the Texags HQ has done. Call Morgan Moudy or Jon Ellison at Rollo Insurance Group.

Family owned agency, no corporate shenanigans, and objectivity in it's purest form. They don't work for any particular insurance carrier, they are effectively independent consultants who canvass the entire free market and are DARN good at what they do.

Second Greg, we moved to him after Bruce Boyd retired also. He calls at least once a year to ask me if we need to change anything and has always been helpful when needing to change vehicle info.

I've been getting quotes lately and one SF office said they had been having email issues and just regained access to a lot of older emails this month.

I highly recommend contacting Liere Insurance and getting a quote. They will shop around for you to find your best deal among multiple insurance carriers. I have them run new quotes for me every year.

+1 for Texas Farm Bureau. We have had them for a few years for auto and they have been great.

We also use Germania for our property, and have great experiences with them as well.

Goosehead is who I've used since moving back to town. I have had a good experience and the price is comparable to others I quoted.

I was impressed with Goosehead until it came time for post-sales communication. Be prepared to wait up to 2 hours for a chat, or the next day for an actual phone conversation, which is scheduled online.

Also, and I never had this with either Rollo or Liere, they will charge you (up front) for shopping different companies. Maybe that cost is factored into the other's commissions, but I don't like the separate up front charge.

Insurance is a weird business and sure has changed. We have had homeowner's insurance with the same company and agent in town for about 18 years now and we have never had any contact phone, mail, internet, by a living person..nada, none. i have called the agency a couple of times and asked questions and no other contact.

I have shopped the cost once in a while and there hasn't been any major reason to change.

Years ago when I was in it i made a point to contact all of my clients at least twice a year via phone or at least by email.

Had the same issue with Goosehead. Charge policy fee to shop your coverage and after you buy service sucks. I contacted agent about being significantly underinsured on my homeowners policy and she argued with me and basically told me I did not know what I was talking about. Dropped them and moved to Rollo.
