Want to take my kiddo to go on a swing at a park. Which parks in Bryan or College Station have a quality swing?

Agreed. We took our 3 and 4 year olds here and they both spent literally an hour on the horse swings because they could easily do it themselves.

My kids call it the horsey park. Kinda sad what new parks have become.

Central Park is pretty awesome in College Station, great example of how great a new park can be.

The (Lutheran? I think?) church on Rio Grande and 2818 has a small swingset on the back side of their property. Pretty quiet place and small area to play. It's an old skool playground.

Gabbard Park (they are covered as a bonus for summertime), southern oaks park and the park in Raintree have swings as well. Wellborn community center is also horsey park in our house and my daughter loves it.

Bee Creek has 2 round swings, but they don't have any regular swings. I'm not sure what the round swings are actually called, but my family refers to the ones at Bee Creek Park as flying saucer swings because that's basically what they look like.

I'm not sure which parks still have normal swings. They at least used to have them at Gabbard Park, Central Park (haven't been there since before they put in the Fun for All playground so I don't know if it includes regular swings or not, and maybe the park that is on Balcones (sorry, can't remember the name of it). If the one on Balcones doesn't have them, whatever the one that is the next one south of there had them.

I'm pretty sure the College Station Parks and Rec website lists what amenities their parks have. I'm not positive if it includes whether they have swings or not, but I think it does (or did).

Castlegate Park had a traditional swing-set with 2 regular and 2 toddler swings. Seems always occupied when the weather is nice.

Bob Cherry Park, also known as Johnson Elementary in Bryan is awesome. There is a very large bank of swings along with two very nice sizeable playscapes. They did recently update their fence and it is now gated but I've always been able to get in.

Here are some options in Bryan, if you're interested:
Sue Haswell Park and Sadie Thomas Park
Tiffany Park/Bowen Elementary, except swings are on school grounds and typically only available after school hours and weekends.
Same goes for Bob Cherry Park/Johnson Elementary.
I think Tanglewood Park also has swings, but it's been a while since I've been there.
