Today, February 20th, your Brazos County Health District was awarded Local Health Department of the year by the Texas Association of City and County Health Officials (TACCHO).
The distinction is awarded to the top performing local health department in Texas for efficiency and efficacy of health services delivered.
This award is earned by the hard work and compassionate care of the hard working men and women of the health district. They ensure our restaurants are clean, administer vaccination programs, offer local clinics and drive through testing for strep, Covid and flu, conduct physical exams for citizens and legal immigration alike, conduct physical exams for young athletes that want to play ball, track infectious disease, manage the permitting process for septic systems, report vital statistics reporting on health tracking data, provide disaster preparedness kits and seminars, and so much more.
I'm proud to be the chairman of the board and want to emphasize these folks earned every ounce of this themselves. Good people doing good works!
