Howdy! I've got a group of buddies (4 of us including me) that are looking for a place to lease for deer hunting and other animals. I was wondering if anybody knew a place within a couple hours of College Station for us to hunt $1000 annually per person. Doesn't have to have hunting lodge or any other amenities, looking for around 300-1500 acres. We are willing to provide our own feeders and blinds if we need too, as well as feed the place year-round.

Exactly. The ones I know of in this general area are around 5k per hunter range. Which I think is ridiculous for the quality of deer you can get here.

OP- your best bet would be public land hunting if going back home isn't an option. You would need to put in for draws next year.

Join a frat with dudes with jacked up trucks. One of them will have a ranch somewhere. WHOOP!

You may try looking for something east of Huntsville. In rural east Texas you may be able to find a place for around $1200/person but I wouldn't expect too much. And I'd put a padlock on everything. Deer equipment has a funny way of disappearing in east Texas…
