".Officers quickly located.." That is an understatement. I saw the cops arrive and it was awesome. The suspect was in cuffs, lying on the ground, in the parking lot of Koppe Bridge within a few minutes.

My advice, don't do stupid stuff in College Station. The cops do respond.

His 9th time in jail. The cops do their job only to have the weak DA and judges let him out time after time.
It's hell when you get what you voted for.

Sentencing guidelines for misdemeanors are where you should aim your ire. With probation, fines and early release for first second and third offenders, the penalties don't start getting severe for repeat offenders until they get caught a few times and go through the system.

Even if you do manage to get statewide increases in penalties for minor crimes and misdemeanors, you get a huge backlash like those seen against the old three strikes you're out laws. These are seen as racist because they disproportionately affect minorities.

Then there are societal backlashes like one political party's Defund the Police movement which swung the pendulum back toward leniency especially after high profile incidents like George Floyd's death. And so the cycle continues.

Long story short, this is not on the local DA.

This. Until it gets into the felony category, it's not the DA's job.

9th time since 2011. He was arrested on a misdemeanor 4 years ago. And a felony 8 years ago tomorrow. And 6 other times before than that. ANY punishment from those cases would already be completed.

People say what they want and create a narrative, with or without facts.

Others will follow along and believe the narrative, with or without facts.
