Yes youngbloods was yummy. Better before the bank lady and husband took over but really miss it. Better cfs than ken martins, but they had the cave room.

Great chicken fried steak and fried chicken. The CFS was huge.
Joe was a Pike I believe. He did maintenance at my apartment complex back in the day while going to school. It was the first place to grab a beer that wasn't Miller/Bud etc. I started going at the end of my school career as my friend group expanded.
And it was wonderful!

ETA: And yes it was for a while predominantly frequented by the Greeks. It was a great time. Met my wife for the first time there. Also got my eye tattooed by someones Aggie ring during a kerfuffle. Good times....goooood times.

Go in to Carneys, get your Irish stamp, drink cheap pitchers, chase sorostitutes, then head across the street to Blarney Stone for the hard stuff a little later in the night.

My circle of friends (GDI's) would meet up and have mid afternoon beverages but get the dirty eye from a few Bryan locals. They seemed to not like the idea of "college boys" invading their territory. That was the summer of '87/'88 ish. I may be off a year or so. Then the frats moved in and pissed every one off. 
Not really, but the locals put up/tolerated the GDI's but completely abandoned Carneys once the Greeks moved in.
I myself enjoyed the company of the Greek's. They purchased many a beer for my circle paying up on beer a stick pool. some had more money than sense.
It also provided some great people watching…. If The KA's and SAE's were both present … it would get interesting
