I've been doing some research on flood plains in Brazos County and trying to correlate historical floods with elevations. The flow / height gauge on Hwy 21 has only been in place the last 25yrs or so and does not cover some of the major floods I'm aware of in 1913, 1908, 1936 etc. Is there somewhere I can get information on these historic crests that are prior to Hwy 21 gauge in Brazos County?

Historic Crests
(1) 46.49 ft on 07/16/2007
(2) 46.45 ft on 05/28/2015
(3) 46.21 ft on 01/05/2019
(4) 43.99 ft on 05/30/2007
(5) 43.23 ft on 11/02/2015

Flood Impact Notes:
66ft - Major lowland flooding begins with backwater flooding up the Little Brazos River as far as FM 1687. Mount Zion Church near the left downstream bank of the Brazos River is threatened. In Burleson County significant backwater flooding up Cedar, Copper, and Dead Creeks occurs.

60ft - Moderate lowland flooding begins with widespread inundation of the left downstream floodplain.
52ft- Minor lowland flooding begins as farm land along the river becomes inundated.
32ft - Significant backwater flooding up the Little Brazos River occurs.
21ft - Backwater flooding up the Little Brazos River begins.

Base elevation of Hwy 21 gauge -> gauge zero datum = 188.78 ft

Ive lightly researched what you're looking for without much luck.

We were on the river near 21 at its peak in 2015. As you can see in the pics, it was still inside it's banks in all but a few areas.

I can't remember what year in the 90's I think it was and the Brazos river came out it banks and the Yegua as well. City of Clay on FM 50 was basically an island. Gas station on hwy 50/60 there was like a foot of water or more over everything

That was probably 93 when a system parked on top of us for a week or more. Homes near the Navasota were nigh inaccessible in the Steep Hollow area.

'94 maybe? A lot of areas from central Texas to the coast had issues that year.

In the museum in Bastrop there is a letter from the President of Texas to all citizens of Texas & the US, requesting aid due to the massive flooding of the Brazos River all along the Millican area & further south. There was devastation & numerous loss of life. It's been years since I read it but that might be a source for you.

December 1991 - January 1992 was the bad flooding- I want to say the Brazos was out of its banks and FM 60 was closed.

"Record flooding moved down the San Gabriel and Little Rivers into the Brazos River above Bryan. The Brazos River was 5 mi wide west of Bryan and College Station. The Navasota River was well over 1 mi wide in Grimes and Brazos Counties. A huge lake over 10 mi long by 10 mi wide was created above the confluence of the Navasota and Brazos Rivers above Washington on the Brazos State Park. High areas were above the water, but most areas flooded."

It was 94. I was working nights as a correctional officer at Pack 1(I think it was 1) back then and we got stuck there for days due to flooding. Slept in the old CO bunk houses they had there for a day or two between shifts.
