I am about to become Medicare eligible. Calling SSA has become a nightmare. All I need are the documents they supposedly mailed in November. Can the local office in Bryan reissue? My retiree company won't provide details of my coverage with them until I have Medicare info.

To turn this into another government agency issue, I believe not receiving the original documents pertains to the local USPS. Important and official looking documents are disappearing from mailboxes.

I do have a mySSA account but I don't see anywhere on there to view my Medicare info or print any info. On my phone. Will try on laptop later.

I like my current insurance, but trying to decide if I want the advantage plan offered by my employer or traditional Medicare and a supplement.

as my friend said Advantage plans are great as long as you never get sick.

I have Medicare and a supplement because I travel so am covered anywhere in USA be sure and get part D also if you go with a supplement or you will be penalized down the road. I have WellCare part D and the premium went down to 50 cents a month this year it was 11 bucks last year. My supplement is through Mutual of Omaha and it is plan G be sure and analyze the plans I think G is the best.

Still all confusing. My company plan includes a prescription drug plan and allows me to see any provider nationwide as long as they are eligible to receive payment under Medicare and willing to accept payment from Aetna. $100 deductible and $4,000 annual out of pocket max. This plan is $74.

Guess I just don't understand why I'll also pay for Medicare with this plan? Once I leave the company plan, I cannot get back into it.

I'll probably use it the first year and see how it works out.

Are you already retired and receiving SS ?
you pay 74 a month for all health insurance or just a drug plan?

Medicare is 174.70 per month WellCare drug plan is .50 per month.
my supplement is 130.00
so, my monthly health insurance premium is 305.20.

I have been retired 5 years.

Hope this helps

I have been retired since 2020 and just recently started collecting SS. I have been on the pre-65 retiree insurance since and coverage is fantastic. $313 premium included dental and vision.

Yes, the $74 includes healthcare and prescription drug coverage. I think there will be an additional charge if my income goes over a certain amount (IRMAA??). Additional $43 for dental, $10 for vision.

I hear so many people say "stay away from advantage plans". But sounds like mine will be fine. If not, I'll look around next year.

Thank you for your input! It is awesome to be retired!!

I guess I'm very fortunate as my former employer offers a Medicare Advantage plan (including Rx drugs -Part D, vision and dental) for $74 a month. Of course still have to pay the $174 a month for Part B

Part B is to Medicare, right. That's how mine is set up. Do you have any issues and are you subject to IRMAA?

Yes Part B is taken from my monthly SS payment. And yes IRMAA was an unexpected nasty hit for the first two years after my retirement.
