With T bills increasing in price (falling yield) like they are that's not likely and if it happens it won't last long.

What are you referring to? Many national and regional banks have high yield savings accounts. I wanted to stay local.

I've got a Scwab Money Market acct that is 5%, but it's money market, not savings.

Lots of online banks (ally, etc.) are advertising them.

Savings accounts are based on short term T bill rates. Check what they have been doing in December and get back with me in a few months. Also - check out the WSJ article about smaller banks today.

I'd just set up an account with Ally or any of the other online HYSAs. I think mine is 4.35% right now.
