Any places around BCS or outlying area that offer guided trail rides? Thinking about this for a loved one's bday but never looked into it in BCS. From maps most of the results are either boarding places or lessons for equestrian events but not simple trail rides. Anyone know of anything?

Brazos Bluffs Ranch in Waco. 254 722-9182. My wife has been there and plans to go again.

Wife and daughter are the horse people but not available to comment. The closest commercial trail riding was at Huntsville state park. They did riding at lake Somerville and some areas were ok but much was rocky and not great for horses or scenic, but close by. The favorite was the McKinney roughs nature park next to hyatt lost pines near Bastrop. They had their own horses but there are commercial tours and believe even some as part of hotel packages. They said was best for riding while being able to avoid baking in the sun, able to swim horses and just general enjoyment.

Galveston/Bolivar

We did one closer to Bastrop one time.
