Light was nice enough to call to let us know, which is greatly appreciated. Thought I'd alert anyone else who has gone to them for years. I am looking at the alternatives, and there aren't many of the normal people we've considered listed. Wish I had known a month ago though, I would have changed (dropped) coverage. What is normally covered 100% will now be almost $300. Said A&M's coverage only covered $8 more than medicaid reimbursement.... so I don't blame them. But sucks to start over.

Yup, it is a bummer. Our insurance (not TAMU) changed to Delta. We LOVED Dr. Black's office. Still with Light for continuity but we might not be able to stay if there's actual work needed.

You are going to find that pretty much all dental insurance has gone this way. You are just prepaying for cleanings and nothing else will be covered.

We use Johnson Dentistry. Daughter has been going since we left Light. Not a "child" dentist but he and the ladies in his office are amazing!

I was just surprised the cleanings weren't at least covered, regardless who does it.

I thought Light had done away with accepting any dental insurance but maybe I misunderstood.

I called and they will still submit out of network claims and try to get paid. Payment can vary wildly, though. I have received reimbursement from their office for previous insurance! (Apparently we've always been out of network but our previous insurance paid very well.) I just love their office so much... my child is very comfortable there and is used to them. And that's worth it to me.
