How long do you want to ignore this user?
Howdy - quick question for anyone in King Oaks. My sister in law is planning to build a house in King Oaks in the near future, but has no idea about who provides internet an cable tvout there. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Interesting fact: King Oaks was the very first FTTH community in the BCS area.

They have 2 fiber providers currently: The phone company (Century Link or Windstream, I can't remember) and Mid-South Elec Coop fiber.

Both of them can provide very fast internet and then the homeowner can use any of the streaming services for TV.

If, by chance, they don't have fiber to their street yet, Brazos WiFi has wireless from the King Oaks water tower.

Just finished new build in King Oaks and had Mid South install fiber. Only been a couple days, but no issue thus far.

Mid South Fiber is rock solid. Only 1 unplanned outage in the past 18 months that lasted for about 2 hours. They have a 100Mbit, 500Mbit, and 1Gbps package. We have the 1Gig package and we always get that.

We use MidSouth in KO as well. No complaints.

One tip though: get battery backup for the router and any repeaters you might have. Power reliability in KO (and most of Grimes County, from what I understand) is not great. Our power flickers any time thunderstorms roll in.

Oh and to confirm what BrazosWifi said, the other provider is Windstream. I didn't seriously look into their offering, but I believe prices are comparable to MidSouth.

We've had windstream since we moved in and it's been reliable in our section. Others have not had as positive an experience with outages. Mid South has received very positive reviews from those using.
