Wondering why his bail is so low. Other folks are crazy high?

Apparently, it was also a personal recognizance bond, so he didn't have to pay anything to be released.

I just want to know who the inmate was! Guy or girl?

I'm assuming it was a girl.

I thought they only had female guards in the areas where there are female prisoners?

I was assuming it was a female inmate, since most of the time when male guards take advantage of other inmates sexually, the inmates are female.

I looked it up, it is against the law for guards to have sex with inmates (Texas law, federal has a similar law), partly because courts have ruled that prisoners are legally unable to give consent.

The reason words like "rape" or "sexual assault" aren't being used because it (probably) was consensual on an interpersonal level, but the law doesn't see it that way, that's why they have to use terms like "violating civil rights".
