I was in Fort Stockton in May (seat of Pecos County where the canteloupes are grown) and the Mandujano brothers were saying their crop was wiped out by hail this spring. These guys grow most of the melons in the Coyonosa famring district. I'm surprised to see this.

I hope they are good this time. I grew up eating these. The last one I had a couple summers ago was disappointing.

Had a feral cantaloupe vine come up in my garden this summer. Giving me a nice one every couple weeks. I can confirm as could as they are, those Pecos ones are better. Soil matters I guess.
