My son is moving to a townhome in College Station and I need to have a high speed connection available as some classes are online. Frontier seems to have a $49.99 a month unlimited plan, and I am looking for reveiws from Frontier customers. Does anyone have experiences either good or bad, with Frontier fiber?

Compared to every other provider out here? Frontier is damn near the top of best. I've had no issues with them in my house and neighborhood. Those who do complain in our area are the ones with not frontier.

With Townhome/Apartment/Private Development communities, additional infrastructure may not be allowed so would be worth checking to see if Frontier can even service the property he is moving into. (you may have done this already but it's not a given). Otherwise, Optimum is going to be your only option,

For sure apartments restrict providers but in many cases its now again federal law. So if they are tied to lessthanoptimum they are not allowed to receive any commission from them. These rules ware updated again last year.

The problem is that if an apartment building isn't prewired for fiber, then it usually means the fiber company is going to run wires all over the outside of the building and attach to the walls. Most building owners won't want that, and it won't matter what the FCC says.

Right, it's not about restricting providers, it is more about what infrastructure was put in when development happened. Frontier cannot use Optimum infrastructure and vice versa. That is why Frontier been putting in infrastructure all over town for past 3 years, but in subdivisions/neighborhoods there is space within the right of way and utility easements. Private developments put in their permanent utilities at the development outset.

Frontier fiber is the best internet product you will find in BCS. It is highly reliable as it is a fiber fed passive optical network to your home. I have Optimum at my home and have not had many issues.

Per some of the other responses, it will depend on location and potentially the specific townhome your kid will be living. If you share the name of the townhome complex, we can probably give you exact details on what providers are available. I own student rental townhomes in BCS and our complex has a bypass provider that is direct fiber fed.
