How long do you want to ignore this user?
UPDATE: Some great resources online but glad to hear any tips out in Aggieland!

While I dread the worry, I'd like to prepare my soon to be 13yo to do some small babysitting jobs in our neighborhood.

We are looking to have her learn basic first aid and CPR but perhaps there are courses tailored to these youth.

Any tips and dos/donts from you parents who have been through this?

Check out the American Red Cross. They have a babysitting certification course for teens.

if ever interested, would be open to her babysitting for my wife and I a couple of times - which would mostly consist of just watching tv and keeping an eye on a baby monitor. We could go to dinner somewhat nearby and be accessible if any type of emergency came up.

My 13.5 year old is looking for the same. She took the CPR class above about 2 years ago. I don't even know how to really begin getting her name out there. Her first couple of times I would want to be close by/easily accessible until she gets more under her belt.
