I'm a big fan of Total Wine and definitely shop there more than TL. My experience with the dollar sale at TL is that the higher the price, the bigger the discount. So it's a good time to pick up the stuff that's a little out of your price range or splurge on something you'd never think about buying.

ETA: The dollar sale is only a good deal when buying spirits. TL never has very good prices on beer or wine. Will check out the prices compared to TW and report back.

Just went by and made my selections and did a quick price comparison with Total Wine. What I said earlier held true, the more expensive the bottle, the better the discount. So the sale at TL is only worthwhile if you're getting higher-end stuff. Below is a comparison of a few spirits with the sale price at TL vs. the everyday price at TW.

Tito's handle: $29.49 at TL and $29.99 at TW
Crown Black handle: $52.27 at TL and $49.99 at TW
