Howdy Ags. We are moving our household from Haskell and into the BCS area this Spring. Any recommendations for a moving company? I used D & D five years ago and it was a bit "rough"...so, I am not sold on them.

G&M haulers. I've used them twice and been extremely happy with them.

Another vote for G&M Haulers. Multiple times used and always top-notch. I have heard many unpleasant things about the one OP mentioned.

G&M moved my MIL last August and did an incredible job. We would definitely use them again.

I had a great experience with D&D. I sold my house in College Station and had to move out before my new house was finished. I needed part of my stuff moved into a temporary apartment and the rest of my belongings had to be taken to two different storage units. D&D handled that perfectly. The fours workers were polite and respectful. I took them all to Wings & More for lunch. I tipped them also because I wanted to, not because I felt like I had to

I am also using D&D to move my sister to a new senior living apartment in Ft Worth. The scheduled moving date has had to be cancelled twice because of construction issues. I dreaded cancelling, but both times the lady told me not to worry. She said things like that happen in their business. She said to just let her know when we needed to reschedule the third time. She was polite and understanding. Wow, I was not expecting customer service like that. I recommend D&D because my experience was good.

Pop. I'm truly glad yours was a good experience. Mine wasn't. I told the D & D driver when they arrived to take it slow as they came into my circular drive. Rains had saturated the yard. The driver came in too fast and went off the driveway. He sank the front end of their truck 12 to 18 inches deep. They had to call an eighteen wheeler wrecker to pull it out. As a result I had massive ruts in my yard. Made for a long stressful day. Accidents happen, I understand that. But, they said they would fix my yard. They never did. I had to haul sand and sod in to fix it myself.

I had a bad experience with [Deleted]. Mods can delete if they want but I'm not wasting my time going in depth.

[If posters are not going to take the time to post a simple reason or experience for why they are giving a negative review we are not going to allow the post to remain. In order to protect customer and poster anonymity we do not require specifics but to protect local business from possible fake claims or competitive business we do require some basic information about their interaction with that business. -Staff]

I didn't even hire D&D and I had a horrible experience with them.

Contacted them via their website form to get a quote. Requested all contract through email. They called me very soon after (there's another post somewhere from when I remembered the timeline better). Sent it to voicemail. Rinse, repeat several times.

I finally emailed and told them to please stop calling me at I was not able to answer. Calls stopped for a bit.

Decided to go with a company local to where I was moving from as they were much much much more reasonably priced than D&D. Notified D&D which led to more phone calls and emails from them. Told them not to contact me again.

Wrote about my experience here on another thread and had someone from D&D basically call me a liar. Luckily, I still had all the emails and phone call attempts saved at that point.

D&D workers showed up an hour late. The workers took numerous smoking breaks along with an elongated lunch break. The entire job took 9 hours when a previous move of same distance with MORE furniture took only 4 hours. Numerous pieces of furniture were damaged, some significant damage not found for several weeks.

I would recommend any other company except D&D. But, your mileage may vary.

We used Conlee-Garrett Mayflower moving from DFW to BCS in '21. They did the packing, loading, and unloading. First class all the way.

Hired D&D to move from my old house to my custom new build. They were late, ran into and damaged a doorway which I had to pay to be repaired. Owner said he would take care of the damages.

The owner kept giving me the same excuse that his "bookeeper" would cut the check when they cut the checks for the month. After several months, I just showed up at his office and hounded him daily until he paid me out of pocket.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend D&D. YMMV.
