We are looking for a good baseball (son is 9) and softball (daughter is 12) league/team for our kids. They both went to the Twelve baseball camp this summer. Just wondering what else we should consider that we don't know about. Appreciate any feedback/information.

I'm a director with The Banditos and our home facility is in Tomball.

Are you looking for tournament/travel organizations or Little League? Both are thriving in the area and there are many options.

We are open to both. Just want to get both kids involved in a good organization so they continue to learn and develop. We have been in little league prior to moving here and it seems to be hit or miss if you have someone that can effectively teach/coach.

The bucs just did a 9u tryout this weekend. You may check with them and see if they are full

Here's the different baseball organizations off the top of my head in no particular order:
Twelve
H3 Brazos Valley Bucks
Pride
G1 - God First
BV Scrappers
BV Renegades (maybe just older teams?)

Softball (I don't know much about softball)
Bolts
Twelve

Scrappers offers softball as well. They are opening a training facility in Hearne in the very near future.

Some unsolicited advice. If you are on the fence as to league vs travel definitely stay local whichever route you choose. Traveling to and from for practices plus tournaments will likely get old quickly if you are not really committed.

I've had the chance to coach against both Bolts and Twelve in recent years and I would lean Twelve. Nothing against Bolts just a general feel from a short exposure.

Just an FYI, the Bolts are now part of the Blaze organization.

My son just finished 12 years with the twelve and will start college baseball next month. It's convenient when they are young and living here. HS ball is all of the teams mixed up (CS, Katy, THe Woodlands, San Antonio, etc). He enjoyed his time, but the organization is big. It just depends on what your goals are. My son loved meeting kids from all over, while some of his friends missed not being all together (the CS teams tend to remain with the same set of kids through 14u).

If you are looking for a smaller organization for HS baseball I'd also look at Hunter Pence. They also have youth teams.
