I left CS several years ago, but Stover Boys (bros?) was the best cheeseburger I've ever had- I tell people about it all the time.

Does anyone know if charlie is still making burgers? He was at village foods when I left. If not, does anyone know what made them so dang good so I can try to mimic it?

I also remember there was some unpleasantness on this board regarding this topic, I'm not trying to stir anything up, just interested in the burger.

I believe we're discussing the same person, but he has a food truck that is in the parking lot of Aaron's Automotive, southbound Hwy 6 just south of Barron Rd.
Great guy, incredible burgers. "Charlie Mac's" is the truck.

He used to be at The Ranch Harley Davidson as well, so even if Aaron's is closing, I'm sure he'll find another landing spot. But yes, excellent stuff!

Never did. He had Flip and Peel and a salad place in the mall. Flip and Peel is now occupied by Charley's Steaks, a chain he has no part of.

No, but text him and your order will be ready for pick-up when you arrive. He routinely sells out (at least he did when it wasn't brutally hot and he had longer hours).

I stopped at his trailer a few weeks back and got a burger and fries. I split the burger with my son and it was plenty for both of us.

The food was excellent. My son commented on what a great burger it was. CharlieMac didn't have any turkey burgers so check his menu on social media when you want to go to make sure what he has.

He never ran them into the ground, just took on too much at times and a bit of bad luck once. When he left others to do the work, that is when it took a turn for the worse. When he was in-shop, I have never had a bad experience! Still hoping for the return of the donuts, when it gets cooler of course.

He spent too much money on renovating Square One and went into debt.

Flip & Peel and Salad Sculptors were both sorta kneecapped by mall traffic, and Primo Pizza...well, I'll give you that one. No need to add pesto and other "upscale" features on a college pizza joint.

Primo Pizza was actually my favorite of his. And Mod, Blaze, Rx etc all add "fancy concepts in a college town," so I don't think the concept was the issue there.

i forgot about primo pizza. I lived like 3 miles from it and they said it was too far to deliver. It was good as hell though.

If only we could figure out the 1 common denominator among all the various concepts and places he worked/ran/manged....then we might be on to something.

His burgers are damn good though.

I asked Charlie about Aaron's Automotive and he told me they were bought out...they didn't go out of business as was rumored
