All… I've heard good things about the George, Calvary Court, and the Stella. Any recommendations?

I've stayed in the George and Calvary court - between those two Calvary court. The AC dripped water on us all night at the George.

I've never stayed in stella but I worked in that area for a bit and we would happy hour at the bar. I would assume stella to be the best of the 3 you mentioned.

I think you have to put A&M hotel and conference center on that list too

Agreed with above. Downside to the A&M Hotel (if you're not from around here) is it's right on the tracks.

Speaking of tracks, the LaSalle downtown is nice, and they give you earplugs.

Also, CaValry, not CaLvary.

I have had great experiences with the George. I like the Stella as well, but it is a bit isolated (can be a positive or negative). I like the restaurants and shops in Century Square, so would give the edge to the George.

The wife and I stayed at The George at the beginning of the year for a special night away and had a great experience overall. I can still remember their signature scent that is in the lobby. It's a unique hotel that has a lot of nice touches and it is within a quick walk to many restaurants and shops (and a movie theatre). Not fooling with the car and still having a lot of options for dinner and breakfast was a nice perk.

While I haven't stayed at The Stella yet, researching that stay, I got the impression The Stella is little bit nicer and more upscale than The George, but just a little, and it's kind of by itself out there.

Good catch on LaSalle I hear good things there too but forget it's there. Downtown Bryan is coming along, for sure.

Cavalry Calvary cowvery…

Depends on what you are looking for/needing. We stayed at the George and were less than impressed. There is no restaurant on site, which also means no breakfast on site. They have a whiskey bar, but when we stayed there, the bartenders admitted they knew nothing about whiskey when my husband was trying to ask about the selection. And this is on us for not looking closer, but a double room is two tiny beds, not what you typically get in a double room at other hotels.

I haven't stayed at the Stella, but I have been to conferences there. Was very impressed with the hotel, the coffee shop, and the restaurant.

Cavalry Court isn't pretentious, but it's the most fun.

Had a room there once and it was very small. Wasn't all that impressed with the room itself.

We stayed there for graduation a week ago for the first time and thought the king room had plenty of space. We'd definitely stay there again.

Not sure what you're looking for exactly, but we have stayed at the Stella many times for a night away. We like hanging at the pool during the day - they have cocktail / food service but make sure they are open on the day you will be there, as their hours are sporadic earlier in the week.

Never stayed at the George but we are probably going to try it for our anniversary this year. No restaurant in the hotel, but Porters is literally steps from the "back" door which goes into Century Square, and we have had many great meals there. On weekends they have live music out in the courtyard of Century Square as well. It's fun, family-friendly vibe.

Another upscale, new option: The P.A. Smith hotel in Navasota. It looks awesome!

Cavalry Court is our go-to hotel in BCS. Fun atmosphere; the Canteen is a great little restaurant and bar; and being in Century Square is a plus.

CC is also pet friendly. And they give you a beer when you check in!

If you stay at the George, you can always walk across the street to the Canteen for food/drinks. They are sister hotels, managed by the same group. And the 1791 Whiskey Bar downstairs is a great place for a nightcap.

I've also stayed at the Stella and the A&M conference center. Both great places with different pluses/minuses.

Someone mentioned the LaSalle. We stayed there once. It was literally like stepping back in time, complete with neon sign visible through the window. Very unique experience. Not sure I would make it a go-to, but if you are looking for something different, it's worth a shot.

The Stella, hands down. Best food and drinks from all options discussed. The pool is very nice as well. It's just far enough away to be a getaway and just close enough to access all the things you'd like to do with A&M.

All seem to be great in their own way so I would say it depends on the purpose of the stay.

We conduct in person interviews for candidates from out of town or out of state. We bring them in and put them up in the George so they can get the experience of Century Square along with a central location. Every candidate has mentioned how nice the hotel and the area is.

Haven't stayed at the Stella, but I've attended multiple events there and eaten there several times. It is very nice as well.
