We are building a house in Indian Lakes and are looking for a rental in the CS High School attendance zone. Preferred 4 beds. Available immediately preferred. Year lease.

I still get Zillow alerts from when we moved in 2020 and I just saw a 5/3 on Emerald Dove available 6/1. (It states it's "available for rent from June 1-July 25", not sure if that means not available past July 25, but you might inquire!) Good luck with the move!

If you own the Indian Lakes property you can use that address for school stuff and live wherever you want.

So a lot is not enough? I know others who leased while they built and their kids attended the school based on the house under construction.

If you can show ownership within the attendance zone they will not worry about it unless you are trying to circumvent UIL type rules. Unless he is a freshman playing varsity no one will care about that at all and even then if you are actually constructing they will waive it through

If you have a letter from your builder and a signed contract, CSISD used to allow attendance where new house will be located. Talk to the principal and ask about appropriate procedure.

Yes you can own a lot but there better be a house in a year or less even though most people in Indian lakes are already paying 3-4000 taxes just for the lot

Last year, we had to show a utility bill or an executed lease in our name for the house that was zoned for the College Station ISD school that we were registering for. The mortgage statement did not work. The property tax bill did not work. We bought the house from my mother and never switched the utilities although we paid the bill. We did not have a lease as we owned the house. It was a little crazy but we jumped through the hoops to meet CSISD rules.
