They've been great for service but doing some research online it seems this same unit w/install much cheaper (about 1/2 this price):

Are there any alternatives in BCS?

I'm a big fan of Clear Creek Heat & Air. Ben Morris over there was recommended by my real estate agent 5 years or so ago when the AC in my new home had problems. Been doing service ever since and he just installed a new system in a rental property for me two weeks ago. Great value and great service.

You might want to avoid Amana; here is the Consumer Reports on AC units.

Superior Air Repair - trouble free install and great service after the sale.

Air concepts - they installed our units and had the best value when I looked around a few years back on our last hvac install

Also, they aren't money hungry like some of these other companies pushing monthly membership and or trying to take advantage of ppl.

Highly recommend you give them a try to at-least get a bid....

Unfortunately this is where we are as an industry. That price is cheaper than I'd do it for and I'm local too. If they've treated you well over the years and you think they are being honest I think you should pay the price and buy their system. If you don't value their history and service then only look at price.

If you want cheaper, call around, you will find cheaper. But then you have to live with what you bought.

Amana is not great equipment, it's not horrible either. I used to put Amana and Goodman at the bottom of my list but not anymore. Anything made by York (Luxaire, Coleman, Johnson Controls) or Lennox (Ducane, Allied, Armstrong) is absolute garbage. Goodman can last but maintenance is crucial. I've seen a lot of condenser coil leaks due to small amounts of dirt built up in the bottom of condensers. I don't know any of the Seigert guys but from what I know they do decent work.

I know it's expensive and I hate it. We are using larger dollar amounts to sell systems but our margins haven't changed. My supply house offered my wife and I an all expense paid trip to Hawaii if we spent 30% more than last year. Well inflation and price increases have made that goal much easier to achieve!

I hope my reply at least gives you some sense of peace that you're not being hosed. Let us know what you decide.

Spoke with the owner. My mistake on what all was included and actually this is going to work out good. The owner was very stand up and I'm glad we can continue to work with them. Nice folk!

I've used Siegert and wasn't very happy with them. When I started looking for a new service, Tru Service was recommended to me by some close friends and Caleb did a great job for reasonable (to me) prices as well as going the extra mile on a few small things when diagnosing and repairing my HVAC unit.

I will never put an Amana in my house again. My first house and my current one had them and they were garbage. When the one in my current home ate it after 9 years (and multiple repairs prior to that including a coil replacement), I replaced it with a Trane. Now it's possible the Amana units I've had were builder grade and not the upgrade my Trane possibly is but I'm not taking anymore chances.

We have Amana at our house and have loved it. Our next house is coming with Goodman and I'm concerned due to past experiences and being less efficient. Has Goodman gotten better?

Amana is Goodman which is Daikin.

Better than it used to be, not a good as it could be.

The quality of the installation is more important. Is the duct system design correctly? Did they purge with nitrogen while brazing? Did the properly evacuate the lineset prior to letting refrigerant loose? Did the adjust the expansion valve to the correct tonnage? Did they properly charge the system. These are the questions where Goodman and Amana typically fail. I'd rather have a properly installed Goodman over a poorly installed Trane any day of the week.

Be sure to register your equipments serial numbers as soon as you get the house. Goodman is one of the manufacturers that will check the tax rolls to make sure you're the original owner too.
