Are there any recommendations for a possible at-home visit for this service?

Dr. Baggs / Westside Animal Clinic came out yesterday, for a "farm call", which included euthanasia of our 15 yr old Lab.

Lap of love. I was so glad to have them when the time came.

The lap of love website indicates they have no vets in College Station. Here's the vet who was with lap of love and helped us out at the time.

I know the national medical director. This is an awesome company that provides a great service for those with older pets and are having to make difficult decisions.

Chasing Tails came to our house for our cat.

Another vote for Dr Colleen with chasing tails. She was formerly with lap of love.

We used Chasing Tails. Lap of Love was going to be more expensive and not available when we needed them when our old alpha cat was at the end.

None of them will be cheap. In office or at home.

Chaising tails. Others were more expensive, and had my wife in tears over what i would have thought were tactics only used at car dealers and funeral home.

I used Chasing Tails when I had to put my cat down in 2020. They did a good job, but whenever you put a pet down it's an awful experience (regardless of who you use). My appointment was in the evening, so it was just the long wait that day. I took her outside and let her roam around and fed her good. I had a good cry afterwards.

It's awful. Every time.

We've used Dr. Colleen, Lap of Love.
She is now with Chasing Tails - used her there, too.
Have heard excellent reports about Dr. Lee at South 40.

Many vets are moving to an at home model.
Easier on everyone involved - pet, family, vet and staff, other pets' families.

Some vets excel at this time, others shouldn't even try.

@maroon barchetta, I've had an account for a while & make a rare appearance when my name comes up

Had to look up this post from a couple of years ago and made me realize that we were granted another two years with my ol' pup. Back when I posted in 2022, she was going through a rough patch but like they tend to do, dogs just power through most everything.

She let me know yesterday afternoon that it was time. We were able to spend a little time together in the backyard, grilled her a ribeye, and just enjoyed each other's company. Being a Sunday, I visited a lot of the recs in this thread to see what our options were. It looked like At Peace BCS is now shut down entirely based upon Google/their website.

At the end of the day, my pup was still able to get around a little so I just made the trip over to TAMU emergency. They did a great job making sure everything was quick/comfortable for the pup and gave us plenty of time and space for our last minutes together.

Cancer sucks but dogs are awesome - especially getting 14 years with her. Hope folks can add some good experiences to this thread for when that inevitable situation occurs. Even two years of prep doesn't have you ready for that moment.

Glad you were able to have two more years and one great last day with her. Sorry for your loss. It always hurts.

I read that somewhere recently and it sure hits the mark. Dogs make life fuller. Very sorry for your loss.
