How long do you want to ignore this user?
Hello, I'm looking for a 2 or 3 bedroom, 2 bath place for myself and roommate to move into. We would like to move in on the 13th or 14th of December. Please let me know if anyone here has something for rent in college station, call or text me at (936)615-4929. We would like to stay under $1300 a month and have a yard for my roommate's lab.

Good luck to you guys! Probably should post your price range though. Unfortunately nice rentals here are tough to come by unless you can compete with all the parent funded students. Even if it's "offseason".

Look in the Edelweiss Gardens subdivision. I lived in a rent house there for a few years and it was very reasonable.

Thanks, forgot about that. Also, yes. Housing is tough here. Especially since so many houses are managed by horrible management companies that you can pretty much guarantee will take your deposits for absolutely no reason. I've heard too many horror stories to want to deal with them if I can avoid it.

I think there are several 2-bedroom duplexes that would be less expensive than that. Moving in mid-December might be tricky. Are you and/or the roommate in the local area to where we can tell you some streets or neighborhoods where you could go look for signs in yards, or are you doing this from out of town? Some of the landlords who rent duplexes use management companies and/or realtors, and others handle it themselves.

If you go to Zillow.com, go to the little three bars on the top left and select rent. You can select a maximum price. I think some are listed normal (total price), but there may be some that just show you how much it is per room. If you see one that is $500 or less, it's a good chance you're seeing the per-bedroom price. You can give it a general area (CS or a zip code or can finetune it to a smaller area). Their search includes at least some of the landlords who don't use management companies.

Yes, I live and go to school here now. I know this is not the ideal time to be moving, but where I'm at is less than ideal due to mold in the air conditioning, so that's what I'm having to do. I've looked on Zillow and apartments.com but there aren't many options available right now. I found a potential duplex, but haven't heard back from them. If you've got any suggestions, I'm all ears.

Off of southwest pkwy, between Texas and Welsh, there are a few streets of duplexes (Lawyer St, Trinity Place; I think the next one is Dexter Dr.), and there are some just south of FM 2818. If you take Welsh and pass FM 2818 (Harvey Mitchell Pkwy. S.), head south, there are several side streets over there (branching off of Welsh, several with San as part of the name) that have duplexes. There are also some duplexes (I think; might be fourplexes or something, but they have yards) that are right by the CS post office (Harvey Mitchell near Longmire); there's a little street by the post office that has a few duplexes or fourplexes. I don't know which ones are available now or prices (although the 2 bedroom duplexes should be in your price range), but a lot of those put signs out in the yard when they have something. Sometimes they say available now; if someone moved out early, you might be able to move as soon as you need to).

You might also check https://aggiesearch.tamu.edu/ (A&M's off-campus student housing office).

On that site, definitely check if it's showing you the price for the whole place or per room. If you click on filter, you can specify which way you want it to display.

One of the other filters is "move in now" which is probably what you should search if you need to move in 2 weeks. There's also "move within a month" which might include some right when you need it but could also include some that won't be ready until Jan. 1.
