Howdy,

Does anyone know of a local masonry/concrete company that does quality work and can handle a relatively small job. Doing a bathroom remodel and we have about an 8 cubic foot area that needs to be filled and leveled with the slab due to drain/faucet line move. I got one quote from a local company but it was really, really high.

Thanks in advance!

Good luck getting a modest quote for a small job. Contractors can almost name their price right now.

Who was the plumber ?

Normally on drain relocation the plumber will replace the concrete where they took it out

Plumber did the jack hammering but doesn't do concrete. General contractor doesn't really want to touch it either. Didn't realize I was signing up as project foreman when we started but here we are.

You have a GC and you are tracking down subs on your own?

That's part of their job.

You are correct and under normal conditions it wouldn't be an issue. Problem is a lot of subs usually work with a select few GCs/builders (especially these days) and right now everyone is completely slammed. Our GC had 5 plumbers he works with and none of them had bandwidth to touch our project, nor did the two we knew ourselves. He has two or three masonry guys who don't have time either and the GC is so slammed with work himself that he's trying to get folks lined up when he can squeeze the time in to do that.

So, we're left with either trying to help move the process along ourselves or wait for the stars to align for the appropriate subs to become available at the appropriate times. It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world out there right now.

You said 8 cubic feet. Do you mean square feet? How big is the area?

Just spit balling on the size. The hole has multiple forks where the tubing/piping is and is up to 40" across and 8-10" deep. I could be off but it isn't huge by any means.

Is the rebar still in place, or did they cut it out to move the plumbing?
