I know they have been open a while here now. They seem to be busy. Thinking about giving them a try this weekend. Is the food good? What would you recommend?

I feel like I'm in the minority here, but hubs and I didn't like it. It was just bland. I need more spice in my mexican food.
I like it a lot. The fajitas plate at $10.99 is very good at lunch and for seniors the same price for dinner.

Always excellent when we have gone. Get the Caldwell Dinner.
I would recommend. I have only eaten the fajitas.

I'm with you - the food IS bland. We've tried it several times over the last six months and have left with a "meh, there's a lot better Mexican restaurants out there" feeling.
Mexican food itself is intrinsically good, so therefore the only qualification is for it not to be bad. Mas Fajitas is not amazing but not bad and the service is usually good and the prices are cheap.
Solid replacement level mexican food. It's fine and it's not very expensive. I don't know that I'd go out of my way to eat there but it's easy to pick up on a night you don't feel like cooking and it's perfectly good. We've gotten it for days that a bunch of us are going to be sitting around watching football also.
Not going to give it to someone coming into town as a place you have to try if you want to be a B/CS foodie or whatever, but never been disappointed that we ate there, haha.

Been several times and really like the food. The service is usually solid as well.
I like that the waitstaff has a handheld device that they can use to put in your orders right there and can also be used to swipe your card to pay. Both of those things save SO much time.

I like it but it is a little bland so what I do is ask for a small container of the Haberno enchilada sauce and gaze op my food.

Tacos and Margaritas are good. Did not care for their refried beans at all - I think they use a lot of cumin?
Fried Stuffed Avocados are awesome. Its not bad for the price.
It's not Houston/SA quality TexMex, but I think it's easily in my top 3 for the B/CS area.Tailgate88 said:

Their salsa is really good. Nice drink selection. Their chicken fajitas in particular are my favorite.
I like it. Is it amazing? No. Is it good? Yes. I'm cheap and get the $.99 tacos during happy hour. And usually a margarita or two.
Margaritas are excellent!
Lupe blows them away but Lupe is probably 2x the $

I've been a few times and liked it. The chicken fajitas were good. I know this will sound crazy, but the cheeseburger was outstanding.
Best fajitas I've had in the area is at Fajita Pete's on University. It's pretty casual and the service sucks, but great food.
SOlid value place. Don't think you're ever going to be "wowed" by their food. But it's quality food, good portions, and good prices.
We also like Las Palapas on Texas where Taco Cabana used to be. I would say Las Palapas and Masfajitas are similar, with a slight edge to Masfajitas

I like the one in Caldwell.
For whatever reason, the Caldwell location is much better.
When you see a Mexican restaurant full of mostly white folks, the food isn't going to be very spicy or authentic Mexican.
Store bought tortillas
I ate there once and thought to myself, "I paid $15 for this???!" I've never eaten wallpaper, but that it what I envisioned that it would taste like.
Don't get take out, you'll regret it.

Honestly, Rosas's has better beef fajitas than Masfajitas. Lupe's is always the way to go if you want beef fajitas.
And Lupe's tortillas are blanket sized and hot and fresh made.
Heard really good things. Wasn't blown away when I tried it. It's decent but not great.
Great family and great restaurant. I have enjoyed their Taylor, Round Rock, Caldwell and the south Bryan location.
