Have a friend in Bryan wanting a palm tree removed out of their backyard. Any recommendations for who to use and what to expect a run of the mill tree removal to cost? About 40 feet tall. Good access to it.

Thanks in advance.

My wife wanted palms on our new home. Kept telling her it would be a huge mistake. After the ice storm and her seeing em dead everywhere I finally get an "I told you so"

Figure at least 800 to remove.

Don't wait. The rot from the inside out and will smell horrendous if you let them sit too long.

It breaks my heart to see all the dead palm trees around town.

So let's just say, hypothetically, that my neighbor never take care of her lawn and has a dead palm in her front yard. Would it more likely to stink up the neighborhood or fall into her living room first? Again, purely hypothetical.

I'll phone a friend with a PhD in trees and ask.

Thank you guys for all the recommendations.

Will have the Bubba come blow the tree up with tannerite later this week. He quoted me exactly 800 dollars. I believe half of it is just to cover the .223 round to set off the tannerite.

I expect complete vaporization, and nothing like that whale they tried to blow up in the PNW a few decades ago.

I have used Brazos Valley Stump Grinding and Tree Service in the past and have been happy with them. He will come give you an estimate beforehand. I have two decent sized palms and a couple dozen sagos that don't look like they survived. It's a shame, those palms have been here over 15 years.

Call Jose Perez, 979 575 7734, and ask about palm tree removal. He's done tree work for us and several friends, and his work is always A+.
