snakes and lizards and frogs, oh my, bcs folk!

Took the kids to a herp show in conroe today and found out that the show will be here in march at the Expo Center.....

Brought home two baby aquatic turtles and will probably get a whites tree frog in march...

saw some cobras, a rattlesnake, lots of hissing cockroaches, ginormous tarantulas bigger than my hand, food, cages, etc... carnivorous plants, lots and lots of weirdness..

so who's into snakes, lizards, geckos, spiders, scorpions, death beetles, pill bug farms (yes, its a thing... you can buy rare and exotic pill bugs! aka doodle bugs) monitors, caimans, frogs, hedgehogs, mice, hamsters, rats (yes, snake food), lots of pinkies frozen or live, a smidgeon of birds, and just lots of weird pets, both creepy AND crawley......

100% into herps and amphibians, own a few myself. Not into venomous being sold with this many college kids in town though...

yep, cause someone will set a giant boa free in the steam tunnels.... along with the hissing cockroaches....

That might actually be entertaining, swap out boa for a retic and now it's a party!

Did you see any horny toads? I haven't seen one in so long, was a lot of them when I was growing up and played with them all the time.

nope.... just lots of other weird lizards...

They're a protected species so not allowed as pets. But they are super cute. I'm sure my daughter will be at this show and will probably add to her zoo.

We have five tortoises, three Russian and two Leopard tortoises.

there are ways around that, so dont count it out...

When pet stop was here... The lizard guy, Graham, had many many venomous species at his house... Among them was a gila monster, the only venomous lizard in the US... It is a protected speceies... but graham obtained a special breeder's license from the parks and wildlife dept to repopulate the wild ...

to be his girlfriend, you had to learn to use a poison control kit..



Off topic... but I did try to find you a Girl Scout cookie location.... everyone said not this time because of the virus... sorry...

Thanks for the effort. I think we've found enough locations for the girls to all get cookie booth experience. They are having to work a little harder this year to reach their goals but that's not a bad thing.

Added to the calendar. I think the soon to be 5 year old will love this!
