Brayzos?

Because most of the people in these commercials aren't from around here and the local production companies making them don't care enough to correct them.

Why not support local businesses that do these things?

I like how Hispanic folks always have to put that accent on it, "Braw-zohs".

Us locals pronounce it, "Breh-zus"

Then again, we also pronounce Wellborn, "Well-burn" and Villa Maria, "Villah Maria"

That's because Villa Maria is Italian, not Spanish.

Yeah, Italian sounds a lot more like English than Spanish.

actually us locals who were born here pronounce it..

Brazz uss.. BRA as in Bra... like an over the shoulder boulder holder... us as in ...welll two or more people with you... us.. me plus you is us... lol

which MAY be what previous posters were trying to say, but thats how I see it Phonetically spelled..

Scott Delucia at WTAW once said they had to spell it wrong so the out of towners would say it right. This has been going on a long time.

It's always been pronounced "Well-burn." Some old maps actually spell it "Welburn."

While we're at it, can we teach folks in College Station to pronounce "Bryan?"

Some of the kids pronounce it Well-borne. But then, so does the British lady in my phone.

I was born and raised here, 40+, and never knew any one who pronounces it other than the way Donny does in the linked video. Certainly not "bra/brah" like a brassiere or "bray" like a donkey.

Definitely should be pronounced like in the linked video. The Bra should sound like brat and the zos should sound like zus.

I do know people who pronounce the Bra correctly but then say zose.

Well-burn Rd ends in Brine, which is the county seat of Brazz-uhs county.

If only local video production companies could be involved...

My A/C guy a couple years ago came to do some work at my house. I mentioned something about getting a video done and he said the company FLEW A GUY IN FROM FLORIDA to shoot their local commercials
