Went to pick up a Friday night pie yesterday at PaPa Murphy's in the Tejas Center in Bryan and found the doors locked. A letter on the door essentially said that the term of their lease was up and that they had been evicted. Have they reopened elsewhere in the BCS area?

They were one of the locations closed by the national chain. Papa Murphy's Take N' Bake Pizza in Bryan closes

I'm not sure what to take of that article. On one hand it says Papa Murphy was closing 16 "company owned" stores and they weren't sure whether this was one of them. Then it says this "franchise" store was closed. I don't know if the writer is just someone who throws around the word "franchise" or not.

Either way, I liked that place. But it was too far away from me.

Company is failing. Doubt you will see them again.

Pity.

The Bryan location was a franchisee store, not a corporate operated one. So the real reason for closing is unknown.
We always enjoyed their pizza, an living rural, was perfect for us.

Never was too big a fan of Papa Murphy's, as actually heating a pizza takes most of the effort (get the oven HOT, like "450 degrees plus" hot) and that's what can really make or break a pizza (sadly, I've had some homemade pizzas ruined by accidents getting them in and out). If you were going to make a half hearted attempt at anything less, then you might as well get carry-out from Domino's.

not great pizza by any means but decent and the kids like adding their own toppings at home or in the store.

they will miss it and by extension i guess we will too

The double layered "stuffed" meat lovers pizza they had was incredible. It had a specific name but regardless it was great.

I really liked their pizza. sorry to hear this. they always said they were going to open in south CS, but never did. I wonder if they would have made it in CS?

Nope, they were a mile away from College Station and a mile further South would have made zero difference. Why does this question even pop up? Y'all are aware that people travel from city to city on a daily basis right?

We realize a drive from CS to Bryan isn't a long way. I used to live in Fort Worth and it wasn't unheard of to drive 45 mins to get something. However, when I have a pizza place near home, I'm not driving further than that place. Also, I think it's all relative - we get used to our surroundings. A 15 min drive here is equivalent to a 30 min drive in Houston. At least that's my opinion.

Maybe. I drive out of town daily so I don't understand the "Bryan is so far" mentality. same goes for South College Station. I live in Bryan and have no problem making the 8 minute drive to Zaxbys.

Side note: zaxbys is absolutely horrible...jmo
