Does anyone know of a place that serves good liver and onions in town?

Just a guess, but Hullabaloo and The Kettle would be the obvious places to start.

My Uncle used to take my Aunt to Luby's once a month for her liver & onion fix. He wouldn't eat it and didn't want her to have to cook it just for herself. My Aunt was really disappointed when they closed. She said it was about the best Liver & Onions you could find around if you weren't making it yourself at home.

Hullabaloo is the only place I'm sure of, since we lost Luby's... I'd make it myself at home but I get the "Geez, we might as well just burn the house down now, because it stinks so bad" reaction....

If you can find calve's liver the smell is not pungent. I have found it frozen at places like Whole Foods. Mine is bacon first, then liver and onions. Maybe we need to make some together in my house.

I thought that Cotton Patch sold it as well. Not sure because I won't touch it.

Sloppy Joe's had liver and onions for the lunch special this past Monday. I don't know how often the have that though. I also don't know if they are good or not because I don't eat that!

The *best* liver and onions I had was in Venice, and I still get it whenever I go there. Its an old, local dish most tourists aren't aware of, or afraid of. I don't know how they do it but its fantastic. They slice it very very thin and in fairly small pieces, mixed with the onions and some kind of bacon type product and fried. I've never seen it done this way here.

The Dixie in Hearne has liver and onions on their lunch special on Fridays. I've heard it is really good and they sell out early.

Golden Corral used to serve it back in the day.
