Finally tried Smitty K's on Highway 30 and found surprisingly good food. Pulled pork sandwich with beer battered fries was excellent and wanting to try the "Kueso" pasta next time.
The lunch crowd was a little light and hoping the Tower Point crowd will drive the 10 minutes to try it out a true Aggie owned local joint.

How do you keep up with who is playing there? I drive by there every day and follow them on FB, and never know who is playing until the very last minute, and by then it is too late to get tickets or to find a babysitter.

Also, I've always found the food to be incredibly mediocre. I'm glad to see it sounds like they are improving.

I eat at Smitty K's every time I have a chance.

Pulled pork tacos ("grilled" not fried), is the best thing on the menu, IMHO. Their salads are pretty darn good and I really like their BLT w/ a fried egg on it.

I agree that they've really slacked off on promoting shows. The only way i knew GPN was playing was thru GPN's own Facebook page. I heard a radio add for it yesterday, but that was the first I'd heard it openly advertised. Shows are usually $30/seat, which is steep for me since I'll also be buying food + beverages while there.

They do have $2 beer on Thursdays. All beer. All day.

Smitty K's owner here. Glad most of you guys enjoy the place and the food! We try to let people know about the concerts via Facebook, but honestly most shows sell out so quickly that we don't have time to advertise much. We only sell tickets for the number of seats we have (about 100), so it's like a listening room type concert and we do these once a month on a Thursday. They are early shows so you won't be out late. Tickets usually range from $15-$30 depending on who's playing. We do still have tickets left for Gary P. Tonight for $25. Will Hoge is playing next month then Cody Canada and Mike McClure song swap in January. I'll make sure we start getting the shows on the web page too.

When will tickets for Cody Canada go on sale?

Not until after the will Hoge concert, so mid November

Yessir. All beers are $2 open to close. *Except Thursday nights like tonight when we have concerts

We always go out on Monday and wish you guys were open!

Been there twice and I enjoyed it. There is a nice bonus with Aggieland VIP card too.

Mondays were just so slow it wasn't worth it being open. Business is picking up and with things growing this way hopefully we'll be able to open up again on Mondays here pretty soon.

Been going since they opened two years ago. Great food and no doubt family friendly. The waitresses always fawn over our 6 mo old.

We love taking the kids! (Aside from the money they suck out of us "hunting")
