Anyone else receiving calls from an 800 number, that when upon answering you hear an automated prompt about a free call from the BCJ and then an inmates name?

I've received two today. The first one I answered, and then hung up while the name was being stated. The second one went unanswered.

Free is the part that smells fishy.

I get lots of weird calls but not that one yet.

Maybe a certain local Yelp poster trying to get out of jail?

Call is from an inmate who had money in their account to buy a calling card. That's why it's a free call. Probably having to remember a phone number and they are getting it wrong.

Call the jail Tuesday morning and ask that your phone number be blocked. 979 361-4800.

That's probably whats happening. Inmates that have money on their commissary account can buy pre paid phone cards. Also, another possibility is after someone is arrested and is being booked into the jail they are given two free phone calls. Someone intoxicated could easily miss dial a number.
If it continues on Tuesday call the commissary manager, C. Townsend @ 361-4857. He's a super nice guy and will take care of it.
